China is seen as the founder of modern martial arts and their styles are internationally renowned. A lot of people in the world are quite familiar with Kung Fu but there are others that are just as good. A couple that are not recognized quite as much are Tai Chi and HSING-I.

HSING-I is closely related to Tai Chi and is really one of the inner types of Kung Fu. It's not very familiar in the United States, as there are not many schools or dojo's to teach it. HSING-I teachings are derived from nature and Chinese medicine. Metal, fire, earth, water and wood are the five components of the Chinese, and these are where the strikes of HSING-I originate from. Their dance moves are intricate, being taken from the motions and reactions of animals. If you practice this martial art, you're going to learn to have amazing endurance, in addition to incredible physical skills, due to the demanding and intense training.

Kung Fu on its own is considered the best martial art but there are several variations in China such as the 5 animal system. The ways are regarded as devastating and it is really powerful to use in combat. Kung Fu, Tai Chi and HSING-I are all great if you would like to develop flexibility and strength. The Chinese people who enhanced their studies beyond Kung Fu are really powerful both physically and psychologically. A number of students of Kung Fu who added either HSING-I or Tai Chi to their education are reaching better strength and a higher state of spirituality. Even though Japan is famous for their own types of martial art, China is still deemed the founding father.
